Recently recording artist Kayne West compared his work to the work of a police officer. Kayne said that there are both physical dangers and reputational dangers from being in the public eye non-stop. Hearing his need for help the Fraternal Order of Police (FOP) has decided to aid Kayne by allowing him into the police union.
The FOP is a national police union that protects over 325,000 sworn police officers. FOP members are given a number of protections by the union, including contract negations, legal representation, and general employee support.Spokesperson for the FOP had this to say about Kayne West.
“This poor young man is crying for help. He has a stage show that has a high potential for injury, yet he has not been issued protective equipment, like a bulletproof vest. In addition the news media could at any time twist his words to destroy his reputation. Obviously he is not getting the support he needs by the entertainment industry, so we are stepping in to take care of our new step-brother.”
FOP dues are different for each local lodge. But a normal average monthly union due was calculated to be $25. Due to the special nature of his representation the FOP will also be billing Kayne for a small percentage of his income for music sales.
“We are going to take control of his career and give him the power back. This is a talented star living in the shadow his wife who is only known for her sex tape. With the support of the FOP we will take Kayne to the next level. He will have medical, dental, and a retirement plan. The FOP will also make sure that when dancing on stage his physical safety is being looked out for. If concert venues will not provide the personal protective equipment (PPE) for a safe show, Kayne will not play. Finally the record companies will acknowledge his seniority when it comes time to recording in the studio.”
The FOP acknowledged they do not have a sure fire plan to protect Kayne’s reputation from the media.
Kayne was not willing to go on the record with Call The Cops. But he was very enthusiastic about being accepted by police as one of their own. He seemed happy to be getting away from the BS of entertainment representation and finally getting the support someone of his caliber deserves.
