The Fire Department Instructors Conference officially gets underway today, April 9, 2014. Pre-Conference workshops and classes started Monday, but today starts the general conference and Exhibitors will start to show off their stuff in the vendor halls.
This year CallTheCops got an exclusive pre-view of a number of new and innovative products making their pubic debut here at FDIC.
Federal Signals will demo for their first time their new Minion Toned Siren. We reported on this rumored product back in August. After months of development the siren is ready for full production. Stop by their booth to hear first hand the soothing sound of Bee-Do, Bee-Do, Bee-Do, Bee-Do coming from siren. Special convention prices will be offered to anyone placing an order at the show.
Whelen will also make a new siren tone debut this weekend. This siren also has a movie tie-in, to Ghostbusters. That is right, get ready to hear that unmistakable Eiyahhhh Eiyahhh Eiyahhh Eiyahhh siren from Ecto-1. Whelen representatives said they would be taking pre-orders for units that will start shipping November 2014.
The Kimberly-Clark Corporation will be making their first appearance at FDIC this year. The diaper company is trying to break into the Public Safety market with a specially designed adult diaper. According to their representative, the Depends line of adult has been engineered to meet the needs of responders. Using the name “Respondends” they hope to market these diapers to first responders, “who always seem to be the most busy at the time nature calls”. Product samples will be handed out for people to field test for themselves.
Firearms manufacture Glock will also be making their first appearance at a fire service related show. Glock has developed a new line of small compact pistols with an included holster, designed to fit in the thigh pocket of bunker pants. With the increase in violence directed at firefighters and EMS, firearms manufactures are looking at self-defense option for that unique market. Both gun and holster are insulated, so when worn properly inside a bunker pant, the weapon will not have an unwanted discharge. Information as to temperature limits on this system will be available at the Glock Booth.
Proluvies LLC, will be showing off their new Fog-Bore nozzle. We had an exclusive look at the Fog-Bore back in Feburary. The patent pending Fog-Bore Nozzle combines both a true smooth bore flow, with the addition of an adjustable fog pattern. But unlike the any of the combination heads on the market, the Fog-Bore allow simultaneous smooth stream and fog stream. Mention seeing the Fog-Bore on CallTheCops to receive 10% off when you buy one.
Finally professional Blogger Willie Wines Jr, IronFiremen.com, will surprise fans with his new line of mustache care products. Captain Wines has created an organic shampoo specially formulated for facial hair. In addition Willie has a mustache comb and trimmer set with his Iron Firemen logo. If you are not at FDIC check his webpage to find out about ordering information.
There are many other products making their debuts this week. But these six brands trusts us to offer an exclusive sneak peak before the vendor fair opens their doors.
