Firefighters on Friday made a visit to Thornton Melon grade school to teach fire safety to 3rd graders. But when they showed some of their gear to the kids school officials quickly stopped the presentation and kicked the fire crew of school property.

In response to the Legalization medical Marijuana grow operations and dispensaries Allenadge Fire Chief Jimmy Marin expressed concerns that it was merely a matter of time before his department was “stuck dealing with" an emergency at one of these facilities.

Two firefighters who work for the Great Falls Fire Dept. both hired in 2008 are off the Job permanently today after testing positive for Marijuana. The un-named firefighters who are also volunteers for the Allenadge City Fire dept. are claiming the positive test is as a result of smoke inhalation from the recent fire at “Dr. Raggs Weed Dispensary.”

The Allenadge City fire department was called to a fire last night around 1 a.m. at the Dr. Raggs Weed dispensary. The Talmdale fire department initially assisted and additional manpower was later called in from several other area departments when the Battalion Chief reported the Fire was “So hot and really red.”

The Fire service has been deeply rooted in tradition, for decades fire apparatus has been red adorned with gold lettering, in the 1970’s some departments experimented with “Lime Green” which was more of a safety yellow, was said to improve the recognition of fire apparatus in traffic thus preventing accidents and injuries. This trend sparked the great red/yellow debate.
