Protesters today started to line up at local stores that would be opening for pre-black Friday sales. The up-roar is over the fact that corporations seem more interested in the profits than they care for employee moral. These protesters were stunned when a police officer pulled up.
“Why would we need cops on duty on a holiday? Everyone is at families’ houses. There are no criminals out committing crimes on Thanksgiving. Even criminals have family and want to sit down for a nice meal. The police chief must be too concerned about revenue from speed traps to have officers staffed.”An officer on patrol stopped to say hi and do some community policing with the protesters. “When I stopped I assumed they were lining up for some awesome TV deal. Then they told me they were protesting. Someone asked why I was on duty and I told them cops work 24/7/365. I don’t think the protester believed me. Then I told them that the 911 dispatchers, firefighters and ambulance drivers are also working. They freaked out and said they were outraged even more about us working.”
So now in addition to people picketing major retailers picketers are also making the rounds at local police stations and firehouses.
“Next year we will start rising awareness. We will make sure that no public servant is forced to work on this holiday.”
When called at home the police chief said, “let them protest. Now if you don’t need anything else I need to get back to my family.”
In close we at Call The Cops want to wish a happy and safe Thanksgiving to all!
